Iron and Manganese Removal Systems
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The metal ion content of natural waters can cause deposits, turbidity, increased corrosiveness and, in the case of drinking water, a metallic taste during water consumption. For the removal of iron and manganese, we recommend the use of HF-AMF type pressure equipment with manganese hydroxide-based filling, which keeps the iron content of the treated water below 0.2-0.3 mg/l and the manganese content below 0.1 mg/l. The equipment's filling first catalytically oxidizes the iron and manganese ions, then filters the resulting precipitate out of the water. The contaminants retained during the process are removed by a countercurrent washing operation initiated by a time program and/or pressure difference, during which disinfection and activation of the filling take place. The equipment is automatic and comes in a standard block or individual valve design. The filter columns are made of polyethylene-lined fiberglass polyester (FRG) or surface-treated carbon steel. In the case of a custom valve design, the equipment is controlled and its operation is displayed by a Unitronics PLC-HMI unit.
